Nursery Schools
What's the difference between nursery and preschool? Preschools usually work around a formal curriculum and trained teachers - making them a little more expensive! Nursery schools are usually a more relaxed learning environment and more flexible enrollment terms. They are also cheaper and vary greatly.
What age is a preschooler? Ages up to 4 is considered preschooler with toddlers are 1 to 3 year old bracket. Basically 4-year-old are not 'toddling' around any more and so are no longer toddlers!

Is Pre K considered preschool?

Best primary school in Hampshire! The the teachers are very good and highly motivated. The Head Mistresses management is second to none and has created a balanced atmosphere of good learning and the development of social skills for all the children who are from a wide variety of back grounds.
Great school that really cares about the children.

We are so thrilled with barn owls, the staffs are amazing and the setting is always new and exciting. Our son really looks forward to going to barn owls each day! Joanna and the staff have helped my son advance so much. I can’t thank them enough! We’ve tried other nurseries in Southampton and barn owls is definitely not like the others, it’s very welcoming and there’s always a new development for the children to explore and with extras like yoga, baking and music lessons. They even bake their own bread! I tell all my friends about barn owls, they really are that good.
I was a bit worried about sending my 2 year daughter to nursery when starting back at work. Joanna and the staff at Barn Owls made her feel so welcome though, and now she is wanting to go every day! It really does help me knowing my daughter is in a great preschool. Every day she comes home with new stories and tales of what she did at Barn Owls, especially yoga! Barn Owls is the best kept preschool secret in Southampton.

Our little one loves Green Garden Child Care and the team have been especially welcoming and supportive when he started. He now is completely enthusiastic about going and taking part in the many activities offered. He loves music times, excursions as well as the art and cooking activities. Everyone is so caring it is a pleasure to talk with them about the little one progress.
Green Garden Care is lovely place to take your child. It has so many activities. It's situation allows walks along the beach seeing birds and life on the river. Woodland walks and many Interesting and educational activities indoors. A great team of people too with your child's best interest st heart

Probably the best nursery I could find at the time. Very friendly and patience staff, plenty of empathy. Highly recommended and quite handy if you work in Town.
This is the most fantastic, well organised, well run and friendly nursery I've ever come across and I am delighted that another of my son will be starting soon. All the staff are extremely helpful and approachable and have always been willing to discuss any concerns in a kind, caring manner. In summary Teddies Nursery is an amazing.

My daughter goes here and gets the best possible care the teachers are really behind their pupils. If only every other school could see how this school operates. My daughters last school was absolutely useless and offered lots of detentions rather than praise and encouragement and respect . The H near Netley is a clue.
My mum went here she said it was a ok school as she got bullied

I have been going to Tracie's Latin Club (salsa lessons)for about a year and a half now and I love it! Made some great friends, the teachers are very friendly and helpful and it's generally a great atmosphere. Having been a complete non-dancer when I started, I have learned so much (and salsa music is the best)
I've attended Tracie's salsa and argentine tango classes and cannot recommend these lessons enough. Teaching is clear, with individual and group feedback, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Go along, you won't regret it!

I have just recently finished a short, but very useful course as a part of preparation for IELTS. It was the best learning experience i have ever had. Teachers were helpful as well as playful. The learning process was light and efficient. More over, atmosphere in a hole school was really friendly and making you feel excepted from the first day. There is just one sad moment. That this experience was so short. Thanks to all the members of this beautiful community for great time.
Very good school with very good and friendly teachers. Every week, many kind of activity are organised. They help student to meet people and to practise their English. I think it is the best way to improve a language. It is why the social program is the most positive point for me. I spent 8 months in this school and it was a fantastic experience for me.

Our son re-took Maths and Geography A levels following disappointing results in August 2017. He's just heard that he went up by the two grades required for him to get into his first choice university. Jill White and her team of tutors worked hard to identify the specific areas of coursework requiring improvement and focussed on getting those up to scratch. A really excellent experienced team who properly understand the exam boards and nuanced differences between multiple course syllabuses. We're very happy!
Through Wessex Tutors our son achieved 2 grade increases in each subject at A level coming out with an A* and 2 A’s in Mathmatics, Physics and Chemistry. He has said the tutors were very good and were very attentive in bringing out the best in him. Our view is that in addition to the academic work, they helped to rebuild his confidence enabling him to achieve his potential.

1 year ago my daughter was so far behind in her maths and english i thought i needed a miracle after help at her school was turned down i didnt no where to turn until i found kip on the internet. I didnt no what to expect so was very surprised to find my daughter loved it and for a very shy person that was amazing i knew then i had done the right thing. she has been attended kip since july 2012 and it has been the best thing i ever did she has gone from a very unsure, and shy person to someone who cant wait till her next lesson she has improved so much way above my expectations and will continue to go here for a very long time. She really could not have done it without all the help and support they offered.

My 6 year old daughter has been studying Kumon at St James park cafe Kumon center, Southampton for more than 18 months now.my daughter has shown really good progress since she started, her math and English is very good now and she enjoys doing her homework and appeared to be more confident with her math and English. She is really ahead in her math ans english. I went to another centre in town before but i didn't like because there were too many children in a small room with little attention so i decided to go for St James park centre. She goes once in a week at scheduled time and each child receives individual attention from Dr Ivy Man , also we get regular emails regarding my child progress and also available to speak to the teacher when we collect her after the lesson.I am glad i choose this centre. I would highly recommend this centre to all my friends.
My 13 year old daughter has been studying at st James Park cafe kumon center Southampton .She started since March this year and without any doubt I would say that she has build a lot of confidence in learning her maths . She feels her mental maths has gotten mach stronger and enjoys every minute of her learning. I am very pleased that she has scored a very good Mark in her exam at school. Dr Ivy tutor is a very good teacher and always responds quickly when a child has questions I would highly recommend kumon to all my friends
